Peter Brunt (1961) studied at the Conservatory of Amsterdam with Davina van Wely and Herman Krebbers and continued his studies at the Juilliard School, New York with Dorothy Delay and Sandor Vegh in Salzbug.
In 1981 he won the Dutch National Competition “Oskar Back” and has been awarded several prizes at other international competitions.
He has performed extensively as soloist with numerous orchestras.
The violin concerto “Glenz” was especially written for him by Willem Jeths,
and recorded with Amsterdam Sinfonietta, conducted by Lev Markiz.
For some years he was principal of the second violins of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, leader of Amsterdam Sinfonietta and since then has been guest leader with several orchestras, including the Rotterdam Phiharmonic Orchestra, the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra and Amsterdam Sinfonietta.
As a founding member of the acclaimed Osiris Trio he has performed in prestigious halls as Carnegie Hall, Wiener Konzerthaus, Kölner Philharmonie and the Wigmore Hall and has recorded many cd’s in repertoire stretching from Haydn to commissioned works for the trio.

Peter Brunt is one of the top violin players the Netherlands. He studied with Davina van Wely, Herman Krebbers and Sandor Vegh and plays in the Osiris Trio. He was principal of the second violins in the Concertgebouw Orchestra and (guest) concertmaster of several orchestras, including the Sinfonietta Amsterdam, the Hague Philharmonic and the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra.
